Zaltbommel's old water tower is an iconic monument from 1905, located on the outskirts of the city. This water tower, designed by architect W. Mensert and has a height of 41 metres. The tower played an important role in the city's water supply until 1972, when it was decommissioned due to the advent of modern water supplies.
After years of decay and several restorations, the water tower was redeveloped into office space in 2010, giving it a new life as a heritage site. Its distinctive architectural style, with thick walls, arched windows and a round shape, has been preserved and attracts many visitors. The tower symbolises industrial progress in the Netherlands and is a popular monument for both Zaltbommel residents and visitors from outside.
With my camera I love to go into nature or the city to capture fleeting moments.
