About ‘The silent hour over Funchal’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

Dusk settles over Funchal like a silent transition between worlds. The Atlantic becomes darker, heavier, but still carries the last blue of the day. Above the harbour, the lights of the cruise ships glow as if they had captured stars so as not to disappear into the growing evening. They rest in the water, ready for departure or arrival, and share the island's patience for a moment.
The city begins to glow. Streets are drawn as fine, golden lines in the steep slopes, following the relief of the mountains and telling of paths that had to adapt to the terrain. Houses and terraces merge into a warm mesh of light and shadow, while the hills in the background stand like protective sentinels over the bay. The sky still has a delicate shimmer, an afterglow of the day that slowly sinks into the depths of the night.
Here, on the edge of Europe, time loses its clarity. The sea whispers of distance and movement, the city of closeness and lingering. At dusk, Funchal becomes a silent promise: that transitions do not have to be farewells, but spaces in which light and darkness join hands for a moment.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
