The stonechat is a small songbird found throughout the Netherlands. They usually sit on lookouts to grab insects from the air from there. The male is beautifully coloured red and black. In this photo, the stonechat is sitting in an alder in Soerense broek. The white foreground is cow parsley and gives a nice calm foreground.
