The chrysanthemum is part of the setting sun. The chrysanthemum is therefore the symbol of the sun and light, of immortality, in Japan. The chrysanthemum also has symbolic significance in other countries, in Asian long the chrysanthemum represents happiness and health. In the Netherlands, a the chrysanthemum is given on a 13-year wedding anniversary, and otherwise mainly in autumn. Moreover, the colour orange is Dutch national pride when there is something to celebrate. So a lot of symbolism comes together in this colourful surreal landscape. This work is sure to create a warm sunny atmosphere in the room where it hangs on the wall. The colours used here are therefore orange, yellow and brown in many different shades of course.
