These three sisters immediately caught my eye. It was an early morning in the polder and I was looking for striking scenes in the tulip field. Normally I look for unique tulips. For example, a red one in a snow-white field. But this time, these three tulips, standing next to each other like sisters in a row, caught my eye. It had rained heavily that morning, so the raindrops were still on the leaves. Tulips are fragile by nature, but these little drops make the flowers even more vulnerable. Behind the tulips, the sun rose above the horizon and shone a beautiful warm light over the field of flowers. I come to rest with this picture. The warm colours, the simplicity, the droplets of water hanging below the flowers, it makes for a soothing picture that I can imagine would look great in a study, for example.
