Close-up of a rock structure that creates an abstract pattern through reflection and symmetry. When I am out and about in the mountains, I am fascinated by rock faces and rock structures. Over very long periods of time they have been shaped by Mother Nature through water, wind and solar radiation.
Seen from a distance or even up close, the surface of rocks marked by erosion produces interesting patterns. The hard, rough surface of the rock bears the marks of time. It stands for stability, timeless beauty and at the same time for the continuous change in nature.
I have dedicated a series of photographs and photo collages to the rock formations. In my opinion, they show the subtle beauty of nature that existed long before man - and will hopefully continue to exist for a very long time. Structures of rock meet symmetry. A detail shot becomes an abstract rock landscape.
