The Theatherplatz is one of the central squares in the historic old town of Dresden. In the evening and night hours a special light atmosphere unfolds here. In the center of the square dominates the bronze equestrian statue of the Saxon King John of Saxony. In the background is the famous Semper Opera House, named after its architect Gottfried Semper. Famous works that premiered here include Richard Wagner's The Flying Dutchman and Richard Strauss' Daphne.
