A black and white impression of the theatre of Epidauros on the Greek peninsula Peloponnese.
Epidauros was one of the most famous places of worship and healing in the ancient world; the theatre was built around 330 BC and served as a place of culture and entertainment for over 700 years.
Today, the theatre of Epidauros is considered one of the best preserved theatres of the ancient world. It still impresses its visitors with its outstanding acoustics, as well as its architecture, which despite its size (up to 14,000 seats!) seems to nestle sensitively into the hilly landscape.
