"Thistle: Soft but prickly" is a macro photo of a flower of a thistle.
Because this thistle lies on a separate ground, the thistle reflects in it in a picturesque and "abstract" way. This gives a nice effect, which kind of means that actually most of the work is filled with the thistle (or its mirror image). A natural image, with an abstract representation alongside the "realistic" one.
The main colours in this work are: grey, green, blue/blue-grey and white/cream.
I chose the title because I think the flowers of the thistle have something very sweet and soft, but the leaves, on the other hand, are very prickly. If you zoom in on the picture you can see this.
This piece could hang beautifully as a wall decoration in the waiting room, bedroom, hall or just above the couch in the living room, for example! Also beautiful on the wall in a meeting room (business).
