A Tiger Longwing resting on a plant. This species can be found from Mexico to Peru. The butterfly is found in open meadows as well as in tropical rainforests. The butterflies feed on the nectar of plants. The females lay their eggs on passion flowers ,the host plants for their caterpillars.

Ronald Pol (1977) is a nature photographer from Deventer, the Netherlands. It was during a trip to Africa that his passion for nature photography started. The main focus is on the photography of animals (portraits and behaviour), but a variety of other subjects are photographed as well.
