On the edge of the Haringvliet lies a special bird observatory. It's shaped like an egg of the great star. But then 8 meters high and 11 meters long! And you have a 360 degree view over a colony of those big terns, but also the vast Haringvliet and the Haringvliet Locks. The bird observatory is one of the icons of the Haringvliet Dream Fund project in which Natuurmonumenten, together with other nature organizations, have been working since 2015 on an ambitious nature restoration plan and recreational impulse for the Haringvliet.
