Historic arcades in Paris are places where the past pushes its way into the present - quietly, but impressively. This picture shows one of these covered galleries in a special light: the elegant interplay of iron, glass and marble, suffused with warm daylight that falls through the ceiling.
A closer look reveals small details such as filigree railings, faded lettering on old shops, reflections of light on the floor or people lingering between the pillars. These passages are living museums where everyday Parisian life meets architecture steeped in history.
My inspiration came from a spontaneous stroll through the 2nd arrondissement. I was fascinated by how light, lines and silence combine to create an almost timeless moment. The picture should not only show a place, but also make an atmosphere tangible: a feeling of nostalgia, tranquillity and Parisian elegance.
The image was photographed digitally using natural light and processed with a great deal of sensitivity for contrasts and texture. The work is ideal for living and working spaces where a classic yet timeless aesthetic is required.
