An abandoned vending machine system consisting of three vertical modules that were once used to sell food or small goods. The two outer vending machines are in monochrome grey tones, while the middle module stands out with a faded mint green colour and slightly illuminated compartments.
The narrow glass windows, behind which products once lay, are now mostly empty or darkened. Metal coin slots and rotating mechanisms bear witness to a bygone era in which these vending machines were actively used. The worn surfaces, the rusty details and the simple, functional design convey a sense of nostalgia and transience.
Through the targeted use of colour and light, I want to make the central module the visual focus of the picture. My composition plays with the contrast between past and present, between use and standstill, and invites the viewer to reflect on the history and fate of these once commonplace machines.
