A Torando of the German Air Force takes off with impressive afterburners. The Panavia Tornado is a multi-role fighter aircraft. It is equipped with advanced equipment and sensors that make it capable of carrying out day and night penetration missions at very low altitudes in all kinds of weather conditions. The Tornado is equipped with swing wings. Because of its role, it was necessary for the aircraft to have good flight characteristics at high and low speeds. At low speeds, the wings are straight and at high speed, the wings swing backwards to form a swept or delta wing. The crew consists of a pilot and a weapons controller. For the development and production of this aircraft, then referred to as Multi Role Combat Aircraft (MRCA), the Panavia consortium was formed in 1969, consisting of the UK's BAE Systems, Germany's DASA and Italy's Alenia Aeronautica.
