Torre del Oro, Seville – Historic watchtower by the river by Fotografiecor .nl

This photograph of the Torre del Oro beautifully captures the robust, dodecagonal structure of this iconic military watchtower. The play of light on the centuries-old walls, combined with the reflection in the River Guadalquivir, emphasises the historic grandeur of Seville. The composition highlights both the military function and the refined architecture of the Almohad period.

When you stroll along the riverbank in Seville, you immediately sense the history of the Golden Tower. This place once served as the heart of trade with the ‘New World’, where ships laden with gold would dock. It is fascinating to imagine just how much wealth once flowed into the city here. For me, this image symbolises Spain’s maritime history and the strategic power of Andalusia.

This striking architectural image makes an excellent statement piece for a classic or industrial interior. The tower’s clean lines are shown to their best advantage as a large print on brushed aluminium or matt fine-art paper, which further accentuates the texture of the stone.

Bring Seville’s maritime history into your home. Add this iconic image of the Torre del Oro to your art collection.
