Tower Bridge is a bridge over the River Thames in London, completed in 1894. The bridge is a tourist attraction. It is located next to the Tower of London, from which it also takes its name. The section between the two towers is a bascule bridge that can be opened for shipping. Two suspension bridges connect the central section to the banks. Two footbridges, 44 metres above the water, connect the towers and provide a counterforce to the suspension bridges. On 10 November 2014, a part of the floor of one of the suspension bridges over a length of 11 metres was replaced with glass panels 7.5 cm thick.
