A colourful wooden balcony in Malta, also known as "gallarija". You see them everywhere, in every town on the island. Originally Arabic, there are also Italian and Spanish influences. Eventually Malta became a British colony and at that time balconies became even more popular. They offer shade, but were also used to be able to sneak outside without others noticing. They come in many colours, but this yellow one immediately appealed to me when I walked past it. Real Malta!
