Furkapas is a high mountain pass in the Swiss Alps, located at an altitude of about 2,429 metres above sea level. This mountain pass connects Realp in the canton of Uri and Oberwald in the canton of Valais. A most famous attraction near Furka Pass is the Dampfbahn Furka-Bergstrecke a mountain railway that offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers. The pass is also famous for its impressive natural beauty and historical significance as a transit route in the Alps. The area is popular with tourists and offers opportunities for hiking and enjoying the alpine scenery. The alpine meadows on this pass are populated by large flocks of sheep, which frequent the road and cause considerable traffic jams
