On a foggy morning in Ella, Sri Lanka, we shot an awesome photo of the famous 9 arch bridge train, with a full moon in the background and the enchanting nature around us.
We left at 5am to avoid the crowds of tourists. After a dark hike of an hour, we arrived at the site, where we were the only souls with another couple. We sat tensely waiting for the train, which finally arrived after 45 minutes. It was worth the wait, as we were able to get a great photo as the train raced at full speed through Sri Lanka's morning dew.
This photo marked our adventure in Sri Lanka. The day before, the bridge was overflowing with people, so we decided to come back the next morning to get a picture without tourists. And one thing became clear to us: getting up early, even at 04:30, is sometimes necessary for that perfect picture.
The train journey from Kandy to Ella in Sri Lanka is an unforgettable experience, especially if you want to avoid the crowds. And the 9 arch bridge is one of those magical places you must see during your trip.
