I took this picture on the Ermelosche heather on the Veluwe, as the name suggests the heather is near Ermelo. This photo I made at the sheepfold that stands next to the heathland, the grass what you see in the picture is the route of the sheep to the sheepfold where the grass is short. The sheep are usually on the heath during the day under the watchful eye of the shepherd. I was standing with my back to the sheepfold when I took this photo. Even though it was cloudy you can see blue sky and it was fairly sunny. The heather was just past the peak of flowering when I took the photo although it was still pretty purple, even the sky was pretty Dutch. It was also early September. I used a polarizing filter for this photo so the colors came out better. I had my camera on a tripod and also used a remote control for a sharper image. The trees in the photo are oak trees, one of the three types of trees that are on the heath.
