The tug is assisting a ship out the Noordersluis. And another ship in the background enters the middle lock.
The IJmuiden locks are always busy. Ships always pass through these locks on their way to the port of Amsterdam. And ships pass through the locks from the port of Amsterdam to open sea. The photo shows the tow line that a ship is attached to.
I often walk around the locks as the ships go in and out of the locks. And on a day with beautiful clouds and seagulls flying into the picture. Then I'm all about the pictures. And I also take the pictures of the crew. Often they are posing.
Raw and the port as it is the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is another world. The landscape of the harbor is always changing. The ships the people the landscape it continues to fascinate me.
