From this low vantage point, you can really see how impressive the Turkish Stars perform their show. The Turkish Air Force's red and white NF-5 fighter jets fly in a tight formation straight across the lens, with wings almost touching and noses exactly in line. The undersides of the aircraft, brightly illuminated by sunlight, show the distinctive red patterns aligning like arrows forward. It is an image full of power, symmetry and control. For me as a photographer, this was the moment where everything comes together, the speed, precision, sound and rhythm of the aircraft overhead. The Turkish Stars show not only their flying skills, but also how aviation and choreography can merge into a visual spectacle.
