A poised side view of a woman in a turquoise turban. Flowers cluster near the crown and butterflies hover around the fabric folds while the open ground keeps the facial contour clear. Color stays close to cheek and scarf, so the gaze remains the focal point and the silhouette reads strong on the wall.
I built the piece from gesture sketches and value studies. Broad wet on wet passages set the direction of fabric and petals, then glazing and dry brush refined eyelids, lips, petal edges, leaf veins and wing details. Transparent washes let subtle paper grain show through; small speckles add motion without noise or muddiness.
The mood is elegant and contemporary. Printed large, the portrait holds at a distance and rewards close viewing with precise line work and soft transitions, pairing easily with neutral textiles and nature inspired decor.
