The Japanese Maple. What a beautiful shrub/tree it is!
The leaves are double serrated and five- to nine-lobed, sometimes deeply incised and orange-red or purple-red in autumn. Of some species, the leaves are purplish-red and remain so throughout the summer. They turn bright red in autumn. And it is precisely this leaf shape that makes this tree so beautiful, especially when it starts to turn/colour towards autumn.
During my holiday in Burgundy (France), there was a large and old maple tree in the garden near my holiday home. While trying to photograph the squirrels there with my telephoto lens, the beautiful leaves of this tree caught my eye. Especially as the afternoon sun gave the already slightly discoloured leaves a warm, golden yellow glow. Using my telephoto lens created this beautiful layered photo.
