During a trip through the southern Czech Republic, I noticed that chapels are everywhere. Every field, meadow and house is protected by a small chapel. I can well imagine that in this way people want to ask the higher power for a good harvest, many cattle or many children and good health. I was struck by the image of this little chapel with, above it in the sky, among the dark clouds, a radiant presence. That was the sun, of course, but the image took on an almost mystical charge for me.
