This ship is an exact copy of the famous VOC ship that sank on its maiden voyage in 1749. The Amsterdam is part of the Scheepvaartmuseum.
In the mid-eighties of the last century the construction of a copy of the Amsterdam began. Since 1991, the ship has been moored at Het Scheepvaartmuseum.
