The Van Brienenoord Bridge is a bridge over the Nieuwe Maas on the east side of Rotterdam, in the Dutch province of South Holland. The bridge consists of two adjacent arched bridges with three bascule bridges by extension. The road across the bridge is the A16 motorway, and with six lanes in each direction and more than a quarter of a million vehicles daily, it is one of the widest and busiest motorways in the Netherlands. Outside the curve on the east side there is also a two-way cycle path. The total length of the Van Brienenoord bridge is 1320 metres and the clearance height is approximately 24 metres.
