About ‘'Vermeer-meisje'’ by Aukelien Philips

I took this picture during a photography assignment during my Photography course. The location was chosen for us and became the Sassenpoort in Zwolle. A beautiful old medieval gate, so I went looking for a model who had a typical face for that time, and looked for beautiful medieval clothes. I only used natural light coming in from the window. Unnatural light would not be appropriate in the setting and medieval times. This light gave a perfect homely atmosphere, befitting the woman reading the book. I was complimented by the teachers that this picture had a real Vermeer style and was delighted with such'a compliment! That is exactly what you want to achieve by taking such'a photo. So the atmosphere of this photo creates a painting effect. The architecture of this gate, the setting and atmosphere on the inside really appealed to me, I love these old monuments. You can play well with the setting and natural light here. Highly recommended to take a look.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
