"Vertical panorama: Golden-brown fluff carries the water droplets" is a photo of a few fluffy pieces of the fluff ball of a Morning Star (Tragopogon). These fluffers carry very small water droplets on their fluff. This gives an extra decoration to the photo. The background colour is turquoise, giving the photo a fresh, spring-like and cheerful atmosphere. This colour also gives a nice contrast to the golden brown stems, seeds and fluff.
The Tragopogon is one of my favourite subjects to photograph. The fluff has such's beautiful texture and especially when there are dew or water droplets on them, they become even more beautiful to photograph.
To get the right sharpness in the photo, I experimented a lot. I wanted one part to be sharp, but the sharpness to fade the further forward and back you look. I kept this gradient from sharp to blurred quite short, to ensure that the fluff in the foreground has the sharpness, and the background fades away. This gives a calmness to the photo and, at the same time, a sense of depth.
This work could, for example, hang beautifully as a wall decoration in the bedroom, hallway or living room!
