Skyline of Milan. From the roof of the Milan Cathedral, you can see the modern section Porta Nuova to the north. The tall towers with the offices rise far above the city. Behind the towers on the horizon, the Alps are slightly visible. This skyline shows very nicely the old versus new. The modern district of Portra Nuova is in great contrast to the old historic center of Milan both in color and architecture. The new modern part of Milan has turquoise and blue tones and has a cool and clean look. The old part has a warm look with orange, red and yellow tones. Although some stately buildings in the middle of the center are immense they are dwarfed by the modern towers of the Porta Nuova. From this spot, roof terrace, of the Cathedral you have a beautiful view of the entire city from east to west and from north to south. It was quite an experience to view the city from this spot.
