About the artwork

One of my favourite mountains in Saxony is the Gamrig. On the rugged summit plateau of the small mountain, you can enjoy an excellent view of Saxon Switzerland. In late summer and autumn, I particularly like the colours of the landscape. Nature is still dominated by the summer green of the forest. But with a few yellow leaves, autumn already announces itself.

On my hikes in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, I especially like the small paths in the midst of nature. On the way, I like to explore vantage points and remote places where sometimes completely new perspectives on the sandstones open up. When looking down into the valley of the Elbe, dense forests meet rocks marked by the traces of erosion. I find it very appealing to stay very close to the tourist destinations - and at the same time to let the seclusion in the Saxon mountains have an effect on me.

The rock formations in the Rathen area fascinate me at any time of year. But in the transitional period between summer and autumn, I think there is a very special magic in the air. This photo is meant to bring the scenic beauty of Saxon Switzerland into your home.
