Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.

About ‘View of the Mirabell Gardens’ by Thomas Riess

Garden annexe in Salzburg. The redesign of Mirabell Gardens in its present form was commissioned by Prince Archbishop Johann Ernst von Thun from 1687[1], with the architect Johann Bernhard Fi-scher von Erlach in charge of the overall design of the work. Small parts of the garden were altered by Matthias Diesel before 1720 and larger parts were altered by the architect and court garden inspector Franz Anton Danreiter after 1730. The Baroque sculptures (except in the Dwarf Garden) were essentially always retained. Changes were also made to the design of the garden ornaments, the shape of some of the fountains was altered, the Sala terrena was also remodelled several times and the layout and design of the orangery were also changed. In times of need, the garden was also briefly used to grow vegetables.

Thomas Riess

Kahl, Germany

Amateur photographer with advanced knowledge, retired for 6 years. Made my first experiences with photography as an employee at CANON and now, after many stations, take photos digitally with the Pentax K1 MK II and various lenses. My main focus is difficult to define. Actually everything that comes in front of my lens and doesn't look like a snapshot. I always try to tell a little story with my pictures or at least to get the viewer's imagination going.
