On a sunny day, I walked through the huge park belonging to the Serralves museum in Porto. And while most people were taking photos's of the beautiful salmon-pink building, this vista of leaves caught my eye. In the background, you can just see a hint of the salmon pink colour so typical of this park. The light creates an exciting play of colours in the leaves.
For me, this image radiates tranquillity, a moment to retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Even in the hidden places no one visits, there is something beautiful to be found that should be shared. I love the combination of green and pink when it comes together in the right way and that is the case here. The large pillar is a beacon of calm in the picture.
If you are in Porto, the Serralves museum is definitely worth a visit. Don't forget to buy a ticket for the whole complex. Because apart from the museum, the gardens are huge and you'll find all sorts of statues and other buildings that give you a glimpse into Portugal's history.
