The Elephant's Nose Breakwater, which stretches off to the left, is a striking breakwater that extends into Yokohama Bay like the trunk of an elephant. It was built in the early 1900s to protect the port of Yokohama from the waves of the open sea and to make it easier for ships to dock. The pier extends far into the bay and offers a spectacular view of Yokohama Harbor. It is a popular destination for walks and offers the opportunity to enjoy the impressive maritime landscape.
