Vladimir Baranov-Rossiné (1888-1944) was a Russian-Ukrainian painter, sculptor and avant-gardist who played a significant role in the art of the early 20th century. He was a pioneer of abstract art and experimented with various styles, including Cubism, Futurism and Orphism. His works often combine geometric shapes and vibrant colours that express movement and dynamism. In addition to painting, he was also known for his invention of "optophonics" - a machine that transformed music and light into a synaesthetic experience.
