About ‘Wad at its most beautiful’ by Rinnie Wijnstra (FotoAmeland )
The Wadden Sea is the largest wadden region in the world. This shallow sea consists of bottom sand which is washed up from the North Sea by sea currents. Because a mudflat is flooded by the tide twice a day, the current takes mud with it. At high tide, it settles in quiet places.
