Colour is a property of light that is determined by the different wavelengths of which that light is composed. Humans perceive light when electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength between 750 and 400 nanometers reaches the eye. The composition of wavelengths is called the spectrum.
There is no obvious relationship between the above physical definition of color and the actual experience of color as it appears to the human eye.
The color of the surface of an object is determined by the spectral portion of light reflected from that surface. The remaining colors are absorbed see light absorption.
