Warna Warni is a poor neighbourhood in the big city of Malang on the island of Java.
A group of students started a project several years ago to find out how they could help the population get a better life. The idea arose to paint everything in the neighbourhood in very bright colours, together with the neighbourhood residents, and it worked! The neighbourhood has since become a tourist attraction. The residents charge a (small) entrance fee and make their own cute little souvenirs, which they sell to tourists. Of course, we also walked through this neighbourhood and I took a lot of photos. By digitally processing these photos, you get to see beautiful colourful images. Every time you look at these images, you discover something new.
