The water tower in Assendelft was built in 1885 and was designed by architect D. de Leeuw.
The tower has a height of 41.85 meters and the water reservoir has a capacity of 1200 m³. The original height was 31.4 meters with a capacity of 540 m³.
In the 1920s, a major renovation took place in the tower. The reservoir and the roof were removed. The tower was given a much larger and higher head, which contained a concrete reservoir.
The tower has recently been restored and rebuilt, making it suitable for offices. On the top floor is a catering establishment.
