About the artwork

The appearance of water in blue colour is an optical phenomenon due to the interaction of light with the water surface. Basically, water is colourless, with no inherent natural colour such as blue or any other. The illusion that water is blue results from several optical and physical factors.

When sunlight hits the surface of water, this light consists of a mixture of colours in the light spectrum. The blue in the light spectrum has a shorter wavelength than other colours such as red or yellow. The blue light is scattered more in the water surface, while light with longer wavelengths is scattered less. Therefore, more blue light reaches us from the direction of the water, which influences our perception and makes the water appear blue.

However, it is important to note that the actual colour of water can vary, depending on various factors such as the depth of the water, the presence of dissolved solids and impurities, and the presence of algae or other organic materials. Under certain circumstances, water may take on a greenish or brownish colour.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
