This photo shows the remains of the old agricultural harbour at the Oesterput in Colijnsplaat, North Beveland. The weathered wooden posts rise from the still water as reminders of a time when this place served as a gateway for agricultural transport by sea. Now they are at the mercy of the elements-greying, hushed, and intertwined with the landscape.
The image was taken around sunset, with a long shutter speed smoothing the water and blurring the clouds into soft streaks. The reflections enhance the symmetry and give the scene a contemplative feel. This work exudes tranquillity, but also history-an ode to Zeeland and its changing coastline.
For me, this sculpture is a visual bridge between past and present. In an interior, it brings a sense of stillness, nostalgia and connection to the landscape. It suits lovers of maritime history, minimalist photography and the beauty of impermanence.
