This artwork shows a close cheetah portrait that fills the frame. The face carries clear striping around the muzzle and neck while the coat becomes a tapestry of bold spots cut from cream and black. The eyes are a bright green and the background is a field of hand drawn spirals that feel like ripples of sound around the animal. On a second look you can see tiny etched dots around the eye and soft hatch lines inside the ear.
I was inspired by folk textiles and lino style carving, where pattern and animal merge into one graphic icon. I wanted the mood to be confident and contemporary, turning the big cat into a refined emblem rather than a realistic study.
I built the piece from strong silhouettes and layered it with rhythmic linework so it stays crisp in thumbnail and rich at large sizes. In interiors the green palette pairs easily with plants and neutral walls while the spiral field adds energy without clutter.
