Horsehair tapping brush for use with wood imitations, to draw the so-called threads. Traditionally for oak but also works well with mahogany, the name knocking brush comes from its use with oak. After first dragging the thread, it is then beaten with the long bristles from bottom to top to break the thread for and natural look of the imitation.
