About ‘Whispering fabrics, silent trees’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

In the midst of the lively hustle and bustle of Bangkok lies a quiet place of devotion - where the roots of an old strangler fig embrace the ground and connect with the earth like memory with the present. Delicate fabrics in green and yellow twine around the mighty trunk - sacred cloths, carefully woven, almost like prayers of light and hope.
The tree is more than just a tree - it is a living symbol, a carrier of spiritual power. It is said that Ficus religiosa, the Bodhi tree, witnessed the Buddha's enlightenment. Perhaps this tree also whispers ancient wisdom into the wind, audible only to those who are quiet enough to listen.
The cloths barely flutter, but their message is alive: Thanksgiving, petition, remembrance - signs of a deep connection between man and nature, between this world and that which goes beyond.
The grey trunk, tanned by time and weather, forms a quiet contrast to the bright colours of the fabric. And so the tree itself becomes a shrine - a sacred place in the open air, where roots tell stories and fabric becomes prayer.
