The White-backed Vulture is widespread in sub-Saharan Africa. Its habitat consists of open landscapes such as steppe and savannah. This vulture avoids forested areas as well as barren deserts. It is a scavenger (especially cattle) that prefers eating the intestines as they are softer. Their large wings enable them to keep circling in the air for long periods of time.
