This photo was taken during a cycling trip through Hoge Veluwe National Park. Among the fields of flowering heather, lone died trees with winding trunks and branches add character to the landscape. The photo was taken during a blisteringly warm September day (the warmest September 8 ever recorded in the Netherlands).
The blue sky, bright sun and winding branches make a beautifully dynamic scene.
