About ‘Windmill De Arend, Terheijden’ by Patrick Rosenthal

De Arend is a corn mill in Terheijden. The tower mill was built in 1742 by order of the noble family Nassau-Siegen from Breda. A large memorial stone reminds us of this fact. The mill was rebuilt after a fire in 1756. During the French era, the Eagle came into private hands. At the end of the sixties of the 20th century, the mill came into possession of the municipality of Terheijden at that time.

In the mill there are three couples of stones, of which two are in operation (one on windpower and one on electrical power). The inner rod is fitted with brake valves according to the Fauel system. The mill is still in operation and can be visited during the opening hours of the mill shop. Owner is the municipality of Drimmelen.

My field of interest is as broad as my photography, as all-round as possible.

I prefer nature, close up or landscape, by the play of light on the leaves, the water or the trees, but also a beautiful city view, a beautiful building, a good product or a staged portrait I like to shoot.

In Teteringen I have my own studio, but if possible I slip outside to take pictures.
