Witchcraft generally involves the exercise or invocation of supposed supernatural powers to influence people or events. In the West, popular belief emphasises the witch's evil actions.[1] Modern witchcraft, in which people call themselves "witches", radically breaks with this stereotypical image and emphasises positive aspects such as oneness with nature and the equality of men and women.
