About ‘Wood Anemone Mandala’ by Sonja Tessen

Two delicate wood anemones take centre stage in this harmonious mandala, framed by an artfully designed circle of blossoms, leaves and delicate ornaments. The soft watercolour hues of cream, green and warm natural tones lend the motif a light, almost floating effect. This artwork is based on my own photograph of wood anemones, taken during a spring walk in the woods. With the help of artificial intelligence, I have transformed the subject into a delicate mandala composition that combines botanical accuracy with decorative design. The result is a work that interprets the simple beauty of spring blossoms in a new, artistic way.

Wood anemones are among the first harbingers of spring and symbolise new beginnings, hope and the quiet power of nature. I wanted to capture this atmosphere in this image: a calm, bright and friendly mood reminiscent of sunny woodland clearings and the first warm days of the year.
