Wood anemones in the Japandi style by Sonja Tessen

At the centre of this artwork are two delicately rendered wood anemones with white petals and bright golden-green stamens, surrounded by gently curving leaves in a muted green. The piece is based on a photograph of these delicate spring flowers, which has been translated into a calm, minimalist visual language. Against a warm, cream-coloured background, the organic shapes of the flowers meet clear graphic elements: a fine grid of grey lines and large, soft circles in shades of beige provide a modern, almost architectural counterpoint to the floral delicacy. This fusion of nature and geometry is characteristic of the Japandi style, which combines the clarity of Japanese aesthetics with the cosiness of Scandinavian design. The understated colour palette of cream, sage green and soft gold emphasises the minimalist, timeless character of the illustration. Small details such as the delicate lines in the background or the subtle colour gradients in the petals reveal their beauty upon closer inspection. The artwork combines the lightness of botanical motifs with a clean, modern visual language, making it particularly well-suited to minimalist living and working spaces in the Japandi style, where a touch of nature and clean lines are both desired. It exudes a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and blends harmoniously into light, tranquil interiors.
